Although I’m not able to self-publish another book this year, I have been given a wonderful opportunity to lend my writing voice to an incredible project. Today, I’m here to tell you all about Through The Hourglass – A Collection Of Letters From One Self To Another. This project I am a part of needs your help – so read on to find out how you can make this book a reality.
What Is Through The Hourglass?

Through The Hourglass is an anthology book that explores the past, present and future of people who are recovering from a mental illness. The project is being edited by my wonderful friend Libby, who asked me if I’d love to contribute. Myself, along with Libby and other voices in the mental health community have written letters addressed to our past, present or future selves. Each of these people have dealt with mental illness their entire life and are at different stages in recovery; making for a selection of beautiful, raw, moving letters addressing themselves – from whatever time period they choose.
As most of you know, I have lived with mental illness for a large portion of my life; mainly Generalised Anxiety Disorder. Being able to contribute to this project means so much to me. With the world having such a huge stigma around mental illness, this book hopes to help break down those barriers. We want to reach an audience of people to show what it truly means to be in recovery. However, the project needs funding – and this is where you come in!
In order for this book to become a reality, it is currently being crowd funded via Unbound. As of writing this email, we already have 7% of the funds raised. We need to get to 100% in order for the book to go into production! By pledging to this book, you will get amazing rewards in return. This includes:
- A copy of the book itself (with your name in the back of the book)
- Bespoke enamel pins, mugs and tote bags
- And you can even have a coffee with Libby herself! As someone who has frequent coffees with Libby, it is an experience definitely worth having.
I’d love it if you could pledge to this amazing project! If not, please share around with anyone you think would be interested in pledging. If you do, thank you so much! I would have loved to have read when I was younger. Please help make this book a reality if you can!
