Audiobook bloopers now available for debut novel

Have you ever wondered what kind of shenanigans happen when you record an audiobook by yourself? Well, worry no longer as you can now find out with a blooper reel from my most recent audiobook recording!

When I recorded The Ascension of Melanie Winters as an audiobook, there were a lot of things that happened which messed up the recordings. Highlights include:

  • Not being able to pronounce words beginning with the letter S properly
  • My dog coming in and just being himself
  • My partner randomly singing and wondering why I sound like an AI program
  • Many, MANY cars and motorbikes speeding past
  • Too many flubbed lines to count

And many more!

I did this with the first recording I ever did, as I felt that the bloopers were too good not to share with everyone. So below, you can find a full 23 minute video complete with all my slip-ups and whoopsies when recording The Ascension of Melanie Winters.

Another fun little fact for you: when I started editing this video, my hair was red therefore the corresponding chibi was too. But this video took SO long to make (purely because of the captioning and the chibis) I ended up changing my hair colour jsut before I finished it, so the chibi’s hair colour had to change too!

I’m thinking of doing more author centric videos on my YouTube channel; if it’s something you’d be interested in seeing, please let me know!
