If there’s one book site that I don’t utilise as often as I should, it’s Goodreads. Being an author with two books under my belt (and hopefully a third this Autumn but more on that in another post!), I feel Goodreads is a great way for people to find and discuss my work. Whether you like my stuff or you hate it, you can add it to your library and tell people you’ve read it – a win win!
Something that I’ve really lost touch with since leaving university was reading. I find it really difficult to sit back and relax with a book and even moreso now with my very busy, hectic schedule. So after seeing lots of my lovely friends having success with reading challenges over the years, I’ve decided to give the challenge a go!
My 2021 Goodreads Challenge
For my Goodreads challenge this year, I want to read 12 books in the 12 months ahead. This may seem like a small challenge for more seasoned readers, but I feel that this will be an achieveable feat for me. There’s no kind of limit on what kind of books that I read; as long as I read 12 then I’ll be happy!
The book that I’ll be starting with is The Prison Doctor by Amanda Brown. My sister gave me this book last year to read as she highly recommended it. The book is a memoir about Brown’s time working as a doctor in Britain’s most notorious and dangerous prisons, treating the inmates and her experiences.
If there’s any books that you would recommend me, I would love to hear from you. And if you want to add me on Goodreads, click here!
