An Update On Audiobooks

You may remember back in 2019, I began the journey into audiobooks. I knew it was a medium that I wanted to have my stories in and I recorded my debut, The Ascension of Melanie Winters and turned it into an audiobook. However, I was very inexperienced back then and it was one of the most stressful projects I have ever done in my life.

With The Ascension Series now onto its third book, I’ve recently been re-thinking my approach to audiobooks and how I want to get everything done correctly. Audiobooks have now become increasingly popular over the years and I want to be able to give people the option to have them if they desire it. In fact, quite a lot of my readers ahve found me through audiobooks – something I cannot ignore!

So, this is to officially announce that for the remainder of this year, I will be working to get all of my current published work turned into audiobooks – and yes, that includes re-recording my debut!

This will be a process that I expect to take a huge chunk of time, so I may not get all of my work available as audiobooks done by the end of the year but I hope to have at least one audiobook available before 2022 is out.

Although I was planning to hire a voice actor to do the audiobook, I’ve chosen to go ahead and read/record my books myself. I’ve always liked the idea of the author reading their own work out loud and it also means that I can get some fun bloopers to share with you all (you may remember I did this for my first audiobook recording, which you can find the full playlist for here.)

I know that I’ve had a few readers asking about audiobooks for my work, so I hope that you are just as excited as me to know that these are in development. I’m planning to document some of the journey of the audiobook process over on my TikTok so make sure you give me a follow! I will also be doing some follow up posts on here talking about audiobooks as a whole and diving into some aspects I think are important to share.
