This month, I’m going to be doing something very exciting – I will be going on my very own private writer’s retreat!
One of my biggest dreams as part of being an author is the chance to go on a trip to the countryside for a few days for the sole purpose of writing a book. I love imagining me waking up in a beautiful part of the world, making a cuppa and settling down to write, with nobody else around but me and my ideas. So back in February (just before I started editing my upcoming fourth book), I booked myself in for a private writer’s retreat!
Towards the end of this month, I will be setting off to Talgarth for five nights to begin work on a fantasy series that I’ve been desperate to write. The series itself is set in the heart of Wales, so it makes perfect sense that I’ll be surrounded by the Welsh countryside and not too far from some impressive landmarks.
At the moment, I’m currently working through exactly what I will write in terms of a full novel or short stories so I don’t have the clearest path to my goal as of yet. But with my trip only a couple of weeks away, I’ll be spending time fine tuning what ideas I want to try and which I should go ahead with.
As part of my stay, I will be planning to document my trip over on my TikTok profile which you can follow below – there’s already some content about my upcoming fantasy series on there which I’m super excited to share. And I plan to do some follow up posts on here giving some tips and advice for any authors looking to plan their own retreat.
