It’s debut novel detail time!
Now that this website is officially live to the world, I can finally give you some information. After months of writing, editing (and the overwhelming desire to throw my Macbook Pro out of the window), the time has finally come. It’s about time too – I’ve been talking about it for months and yet none of you know anything about it!
So here we go – allow me to introduce you to the title AND the synopsis of my debut novel.
DEBUT NOVEL TITLE & SYNOPSIS
Melanie Winters is struggling with university life just as much as everyone else. Exams, lectures, the power to move things with her mind, the usual worries.
After a freak accident that she caused, Melanie is forced to return to her home in the Welsh countryside with her mother to start again.
But when strange events begin to occur upon her arrival, Melanie begins to realise that she, and the powers she fought so hard to keep hidden all these years, might be part of something a lot more sinister.
This is an idea that’s been lingering in my head for quite a few years. I wrote the first draft of this novel as part of NaNoWriMo 2014 despite not completely finishing it. I’ve always been fascinated with the world of science fiction and I wanted to craft a sci-fi story from my opinions and perspective. It’s been an incredibly rewarding couple of months putting this all together and as of writing this post, I am working with Rowanvale Books to fine tune it ready for publishing.
WHEN’S IT COMING OUT?
My honest answer right now is…I don’t know! I’m aiming for a Spring 2018 release but whether that’s being too optimistic remains to be seen. Obviously I will keep you all updated through here, the newsletter and on social media.
There will be more information about the novel as time goes on. I’m hoping to update you all once again in a couple of weeks with the reveal of the cover!
