I have an update to share with regards to anyone who is a part of my Patreon. For those who don’t know, I relaunched Patreon back in March to co-incide with the release of Ascension; Patreon was a way for people to pledge a certain amount a month to help me with my future works while getting some rewards in return such as extracts of future work, exclusive news before anyone else and more!
So it is with the heaviest heart that today I’m announcing that I will not be using Patreon for the foreseeable future.
Why Are You Leaving Patreon?
- My idea to launch Patreon alongside my novel was a really bad idea. As it is my first, I feel that nobody would pledge and support a fresh new author on the scene.
- A lot of really good content was being taken away from you guys. I began to feel really bad for not letting you guys see all my amazing and exciting news – purely because you’d have to pledge to see it.
- My audience isn’t huge, so Patreon seemed like a rather selfish idea.
I Still Want To Support You – What Can I Do?
I do have a bunch of other ways you can support me which include:
- buying my books
- leaving reviews of my work
- sharing it on social media
My Patreon isn’t going away forever however; I will relaunch it but it won’t be for a while. I feel that re-launching it when I’m more established and experienced would benefit me better.
This does mean however, that I will be going back to newsletters in the near future! I will update you all on the newsletter re-launch as it happens and I hope that you’re excited. If you were already signed up, you will need to reconfirm your subscription, which you can do as soon as I re-launch.
